What is Segcard?
Segcard is a USD based Visa Card. It provides access to all kinds of merchants and cash machines (ATMs). With this card, you do not have to apply for a bank account or pay interest like on a credit card.
Segcard is a USD based Visa Card that carries a variable amount of money based on the amount loaded onto the card. Each time you use the card to buy something or withdraw cash at a Cash Machine (ATM), the purchase amount is deducted from the available balance.
Use your Segcard for in-store and online purchases and at international ATMs. Segcard can be used with millions of merchants worldwide.

A card that has no activity for 30 days is subject to being deactivated by our core system. For example, if a card has had no point of sale transactions, loads, and or withdrawals posted to it, is considered inactive. The account is still subject to card fees as long as there are available funds, the applicable fees will be deducted until the card is at a $0 (zero) balance.

A card that has been designated inactive by our system is automatically reactivated once activity is detected.
What is KYC?
KYC stands for Know Your Customer.
These are the industry's minimum regulatory requirements to receive full account access. They are mandatory and non-negotiable, and include the following:
1. Valid Government Issued ID, Passport, Driver Licence, etc.
2. Proof of Address dated within three months: Bank Statement, Utility Bill, Tax statement.
Mobile phone statements, voting cards, rental agreements, and invoices are not acceptable proofs of address.
Yes, KYC is mandatory as it is the industry's minimum regulatory requirement. No, it's not possible to sign up with an anonymous account. Please make sure all the information you provide is valid and truthful.
Once you've uploaded your documents, you'll receive feedback within 24 - 48 business hours after our document review.
Please do not upload new documents before we've had a chance to review them since this will restart the application process.
We review all documents during our regular business hours from Monday through Friday. If you submitted your documents on the weekend, we will review them the following Monday. We may have already reviewed your documents and emailed you our feedback. If you don't see an email from us, be sure to check your junk email folder.

If you still feel the review period is taking longer than expected, contact us by using the form on our Contact page.
Every time a document is submitted and subsequently rejected, you will receive an email explaining why. Common reasons for rejected documents are:
- expired documents
- invalid documents
- blurry photos
- the four corners of the paper aren’t shown
- the information doesn’t match what was provided
Be sure to also check your junk folder for an email from us.
Please only upload one document per category. We only keep one document on file; therefore, uploading a new document will override what is on file.
We do not keep all uploaded documents. We only keep the documents used to approve your account (one per category). All your data is secure with our PCI compliance.
Unfortunately, these are the bare minimum requirements to qualify for a Segcard account. The requirements are non-negotiable. If you need help with your document submission, please contact us.
In this case, you can provide us with a bank statement or government tax statement. If you can't provide one of these, you can get an official proof of address from a lawyer or notary. You can also visit your local government office, police station, or post office and request official proof of address.
How long will it take to receive my plastic card?
Your plastic card will take approximately 10-15 business days to arrive at your provided address.
Once you receive your card in the mail, you'll also get a welcome kit with instructions on how to activate your card. If you need additional help, you can contact us, and we'll walk you through the process.
A Virtual Card is an on-screen image of your Segcard. It allows you to make online payments, shop online, and receive funds. You can view your virtual card after you log into your Segcard account.
No. You can only use your card if it has funds loaded on it. If you try withdrawing money from an ATM before the card has been activated or loaded with funds, you risk losing it.
Yes, you can use your card on the internet, but we advise you to take the following precautions:
- Only use secure and reputable sites.
- Make sure the URL uses HTTPS and shows the padlock symbol.
- When you're finished browsing the internet, log out of your account and close your browser.
- Never give out your PIN to anyone.
- Beware of any phishing attempts in email or by phone. Segcard will never email or call asking for your card details.
I don’t remember my PIN. What should I do?
Log into your Segcard account and click Reset Pin.
We will not send you statements. You can view all your card activity and statements by logging into your Segcard account.
Log into your Segcard account to view your card balance. The balance displays on your account home page. You can also view the latest activity on your card and download your card statements in PDF format.
To receive money from another Segcard user, you must first add them to your account.
Why can’t I log into my Segcard account online?
Your password is case-sensitive, so make sure to type your password exactly as you first set up your account. If you forgot your password, you can reset it by clicking the Password link on the login page. If you're still experiencing issues with your login, please contact us.
You'll need to activate your card before you can use it. To activate it, log into your Segcard account and follow the steps to turn the card on. If you continue to experience difficulty, contact us for further assistance.
Here are some of the possible reasons why your card stopped working:
- The card is damaged.
- The card has expired.
- There are insufficient funds remaining on the card.
Please check the expiry date on the card. If your card has expired, please get in touch with us to request a renewal. Or contact us for any other assistance related to your card.
